That, Queen, is what it looks like to live loved! That’s what it looks like when you accept that you are God’s beloved and live in that reality. As God’s love for you seeps into your deep places, you begin to have the same posture toward yourself that God already has toward you. And the Bible’s words about God’s love for you come to life as you live in the love God has for you. As you practice it. As you embrace it.

To live in God’s love is to be fully free. I am convinced that from the beginning, God intended you to be free and to stay free. And that’s the invitation of permission. Yes, if you choose to, you’ll be free to wear polka dots and stripes and sparkles and glitter, without a care in the world for others’ opinions. But you’re also invited to rediscover the girl in you who knows herself to be completely loved by God. This girl is totally free. Free to sing. Free to dance. Free to draw. Free to keep silent. Free to serve. Free to give. Free to love. Free to excel. Free to forgive. Free to thrive. Free to try. God’s love for you sets you free.

As I exhort you to live loved, I want to echo a prayer that Paul and Timothy prayed for some of Jesus’ earliest followers in a city called Philippi: “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ” (Philippians 1:9–10).

I pray that God, who loves you beyond all measure and who has already given you permission, will give you more insight into the abounding and unconditional love He has for you.
